Untitled Defense Tier List: Who to Pull and Who to Reroll

No public roster of Untitled Defense units exists, so here is how to rank your own lineup from in-game data and decide where every Gems and Reroll goes.

Untitled Defense Tier List: Who to Pull and Who to Reroll

Nobody has published a named S-to-A-to-B list of Untitled Defense units, and this page will not invent one. The game launched September 2, 2026 and the roster shifts with updates. What decides your account is how you rank the units you pull — so here is the ranking method, applied to the two currencies you actually hold.

Why there is no published unit ranking yet

Search for an Untitled Defense tier list and you get two things: pages about Untitled Tower Defense Game (a 2021 title with an entirely different roster), and one wiki whose unit and reward entries belong to that older game rather than this one. Neither tells you which unit to pull.

That leaves the in-game data as the only source that is current. It is also the only source that stays right after the next patch, so learning to read it is worth more than any borrowed ranking.

Official game page: Untitled Defense (UPD2) on Roblox — the in-game roster there is the current one, not any external chart.

Check what a guide is actually about

If a page lists units named after melee weapons, Gold, or crates, it is describing Untitled Tower Defense Game, not Untitled Defense. This game's rewards are Gems and Trait Rerolls, and that difference is the fastest tell.

Rank a unit on four things, in this order

1. Does it fill a gap in your lineup? A unit that does what you already have is not an upgrade, no matter how it looks. Before ranking any pull, look at your current line and name the missing role. The unit that fills it ranks above a unit that is simply stronger at something you already cover.

2. Does it hold up on the wave type you actually lose to? Most players lose to the same two things: the trash waves that chew through a weak defense line, and the boss encounters at the end of a map. Rank a unit against the thing that is killing you, not against an abstract best case.

3. How much does its Trait change its value? This is the modifier on everything above. Two pulls of the same unit can play very differently depending on the Trait rolled onto it. Judge the Trait first, the unit second.

4. How much reroll does it need to get there? A unit that needs 400 rerolls to become usable is a worse target than a slightly weaker unit that works as summoned. Rerolls are random, and players have reported spending 2,000-plus of them on a single desired roll. Budget for that before committing.

A simple three-tier version you can build in ten minutes

Put every unit you own into one of three piles: Core (you would never remove it), Rotational (good, but only when a specific map or boss calls for it), Churn (you would replace it given the chance). Anything sitting in Churn is where your rerolls should never go. Anything in Core is where they should go first.

Where Gems should go

Gems buy new units, so every Gem is a decision about a fresh pull rather than a fix to an existing one.

Spend in blocks, not in dribbles. The live code batch hands out about 22,000 Gems — see the codes page for the breakdown. That is a meaningful amount, enough to commit to a summon session properly. Spending it one summon at a time across a week mostly means you never see enough of a banner to make a call.

Pull for gaps. The best use of a big Gems block is completing a role you are missing, not adding a fifth unit that duplicates your first two.

Hold the rest. If the current summon screen is not offering a role you need, banking Gems is a real strategy. There is no cost to holding them, and the next update is likely to change what is worth pulling.

Watch the free Gems. The current code batch is worth roughly 22,000 Gems — see the codes page for each code and its exact payout, verified on both Pro Game Guides and Destructoid. That is enough to commit to a banner properly rather than dribbling summons out across a week.

Where Trait Rerolls should go

Top of the list: your Core units with a Trait that does not work. This is the highest-value reroll in the game, because it upgrades something you already rely on.

Next: the unit you are one good Trait away from being worth keeping. If a pull would be excellent with a different roll and you already own it, that is a legitimate reroll target — but commit to it in one large batch rather than dozens of small sessions.

Never: units in the Churn pile. A better Trait on a unit you are about to replace is a waste. Fix or replace, but do not invest in both.

[!info] The one rule that prevents most reroll losses Decide the target before opening the panel. Not "let me reroll and see what comes up" — that specific habit is how people lose a thousand rerolls across five mediocre results.

How often a tier list goes stale

This game was last updated on October 4, 2026 and updates frequently enough that developer milestone codes rotate in and out. A ranking from a few weeks ago is already suspect; a ranking copied from another game is nonsense.

The re-check routine after any update takes five minutes:

  1. Look at what changed in your units and Traits — the UPD2 page covers where the developer actually posts changes.
  2. Re-sort your Core and Churn piles. Units move between them more often than you expect.
  3. Check whether the best summon target changed before committing your held Gems.

Where balance changes get announced first is the official server, which is worth joining before you rank anything.

FAQ

Which unit should I pull first?

Pull for the role your lineup is missing, not for a named unit. If you want a third answer to bosses, take a third boss answer. The specific names change with updates; the gap in your line does not.

Should I reroll a brand new pull?

Usually not on day one. A fresh unit gets judged on its base value first. If it makes your Core pile as summoned, leave the Trait alone and spend the rerolls on the units already holding your line together.

Is it better to save Gems or save Rerolls?

Save both if you can, but if you must choose, hold Gems. Rerolls have to be spent somewhere and a large held Gems balance lets you react to the next banner, while a held reroll balance only ever rerolls the units you already own.

Does the tier list change after updates?

Frequently. The game shipped on September 2, 2026 and has been patched repeatedly since. Treat any ranking — including this page's method — as something to re-run rather than a fixed answer.

Where do I find the current unit list?

In the game itself. The in-game roster is the current one; every external ranking for this title is either out of date or about a different Roblox game. Our beginners guide covers the first-session setup that makes ranking your own lineup practical.
