Start strong in Anime Mysterious: best starter units, which stages to farm, when to evolve, and how to level up fast without wasting gems.
Anime Mysterious Beginner Guide: Start Strong
Grab Speedwagon for economy, Naruto and Goku for damage, push Story to account level 5 so the lobby code NPC opens, then farm Namek Act 3 on Nightmare until your first evolution. Evolve one carry at a time, never three half-built ones, and spend your profile levels on maximum Yen capacity before anything else.
That is the whole early game. The rest is execution, and most of the execution is knowing which resource a decision actually costs you.

The three currencies you are actually juggling
Anime Mysterious looks like it has one economy. It has three, and confusing them is the most common reason a new account stalls.
| Currency | Where it is earned | What it pays for |
|---|---|---|
| Gems | Stage clears, AFK Chamber, codes | Summons (50 per pull, 500 per ten-pull) |
| Gold | Stage clears, raids, gem exchange | Evolutions, stat upgrades, gear |
| Yen | Earned inside a match | Deploying and upgrading units mid-wave |
Yen is the trap. It is generated in-match and it disappears when the match ends, so a player with a huge Yen capacity and no economy unit still cannot afford the expensive Mythics mid-run. Speedwagon exists to solve exactly this.
Your opening three units
| Unit | Role | Why it works in the first hours |
|---|---|---|
| Speedwagon | Economy | Stands still in defense mode and generates roughly 270 Yen per cycle while placed |
| Naruto | Damage and mobility | Moves at about 19-20 while many units sit near 10, so he reaches early waves sooner |
| Goku | Damage | Free attacker that carries Story acts without any investment |
Goku and Luffy are the other opening picks, but the trio above clears essentially all of Story Act 1 with auto-upgrade handling the micromanagement.
Place him first, leave him standing, and let him print Yen for the whole match. Players routinely spend profile levels upgrading base Yen generation when the far better investment is capacity, not income.
Get to level 5 first, then redeem codes
Code redemption is locked until your account hits level 5, and the NPC is in the main lobby. You also need to be a member of the official group before the game accepts codes. Plenty of players skip both and assume the codes are dead.
Once you are level 5, redeeming every active code is the single biggest free injection of gems and rerolls you will get all week. The full list and the redemption walkthrough are on our Anime Mysterious codes page.
- Join the official Roblox group first
- Reach account level 5 in Story mode
- Find the code NPC, Naruta, in the spawn area and hold to interact
- Paste the string and hit redeem
The first farm loop: Namek Act 3 on Nightmare
This is the early-game benchmark and it is not close. Starter Naruto clears it in roughly 33 seconds, paying about 14 gems and 40 gold per run, with a chance at the healer unit and a Frieza drop. Because the clear requirement is low and auto-replay loops the encounter for you, it is the fastest solo gem production in the game right now.
The stage-by-stage payout spread is wide, which is why clear speed beats difficulty here. Our gem farming guide breaks down every world and difficulty, but the short version: farm the hardest stage you can clear without slowing down, and move up only when the old stage still finishes inside a minute.
Evolve one carry at a time
Evolution is the biggest gold sink in the game. Costs scale from roughly 7,000 gold on early carries up past 85,000 for late-game recipes, and raid-gated evolutions such as Sukuna's pull from materials you will not access for weeks.
Spreading gold across three half-finished evolutions is the classic early mistake. You end up with three units that are all slightly worse than a fresh summon and none of them clears the next difficulty.
Sukuna and Yuta evolutions pull from raid materials. If your raid clears are inconsistent, keep that gold in the bank and evolve a Story-material carry instead.
Broly is the usual first evolution because his cost sits at the cheap end of the scale and he stays relevant from early Story through late content. Once he is online, work up the tier list one rung at a time.
Where to put profile levels
Push maximum Yen capacity toward 2,000-3,000 or higher before you buy base generation upgrades. Capacity is what lets you deploy an expensive Mythic mid-wave; generation is what a single economy unit already handles for you. The order matters more than the exact numbers.
What to leave benched
Bulma, Boom and P units only raise the maximum money cap. They add no damage, and early on you do not have the Yen problem they solve. Park them in inventory until your account is actually capping out on deployment cost.
Level rewards you will forget about
The Level Reward NPC sits near the entrance of the upgrade zone and pays out every five account levels, ten rerolls per tier, up to a level 100 cap. That is a hundred rerolls sitting behind a walk you only make when you remember. Each of those five-level steps is covered in detail in our reroll farming guide.
What to do in your first hour
- Join the official group and the Discord server so new codes reach you
- Summon, then build Speedwagon, Naruto, and Goku
- Clear Story Act 1 for first-clear rewards
- Grind to account level 5, then redeem every code
- Move to Namek Act 3 Nightmare on auto-replay
- Bank gold toward your first evolution, ideally Broly
FAQ
Should I spend gems on gold early?
Not until you have a clear evolution target and are short of gold for it. The exchange runs roughly 2,500 gems for 12,000 gold, which is a steep rate while your roster is still small. Summon with gems while your team is thin, and convert only when an evolution is one payment away from done.
Is it worth rerolling traits on a Rare unit?
No. Early trait rerolls should go to units you already plan to keep. The trait NPC sits in the lobby upgrade zone and the roll pool has steep pity, so dumping rerolls on a throwaway unit wastes the exact resource you need for a real carry. Wait until you have an evolved unit, then reroll.
How do I get more placements for expensive units?
The map lets you place duplicate units only when they are different grades, so a Rare Gojo can stand next to a Legendary Goku. That rule makes grade diversity more valuable than raw unit count early on, so summon broadly before you summon deep.
Do I need to evolve before pushing difficulty?
Almost always yes on Nightmare. Normal and Hard can usually be pushed with leveled starter units, but the Nightmare tier assumes at least one evolved carry. If you are stuck, farm more gold rather than reshuffling your team for ten minutes.
