Kaiju Alpha Tier List October 2026
S tier is Space Godzilla, Destoroyah Final Form and Godzilla Ultima. A tier holds Monster Zero, Biollante, Showa Ghidorah, Kiryu and Heisei Godzilla. For a brand new account, the free starters lose every fight and cost nothing, which makes them the correct answer anyway. Here is the reasoning behind every placement.
How this list was built, and what it is not
Kaiju Alpha does not publish damage numbers, health pools or a balance spreadsheet. Nobody does. Anyone presenting a table of scraped DPS figures for this game is showing you invented numbers, and one site doing exactly that lists three S-tier kaiju that do not exist in the game at all.
So this list is built from four things that do exist:
- Published Cell costs and gates from the community roster tables
- The developer's own kaiju notes on the game page, such as the Godzilla Ultima bar thresholds
- Documented kit details from the community wiki, such as Biollante's 4,900 HP or Kiryu's Absolute Zero Cannon
- Consistent player reports about which matchups actually land
Treat the tiers as a reading of the evidence, not a measurement. Update 52 added three kaiju with no published price or gate at all, and any of them could move when the roster tables catch up. Balance chatter runs ahead of the published notes on the developer group, so that is where to look first when a pass lands.
Kaiju Alpha has reworked Heisei Godzilla, Kiryu and Godzilla 2000 inside the Update 45 pass alone. Placements here describe the roster as of the current build, and nothing here is permanent.
S tier

Space Godzilla also has the cleanest gate in the game, which makes it the least frustrating of the three. It wants level 100 Heisei Godzilla, level 75 Biollante and level 25 Godzilla Junior. Every requirement is a level on a kaiju you would want leveled anyway, and there is no kill counter attached.

Biollante is the sleeper entry here. It sits at 50,000 Cells with no level gate attached, which means an account can buy it the same week it starts farming, while Destoroyah needs two forms at level 100 first.
Showa Ghidorah is free, it flies, and it sits in A tier. It takes about a minute. Do it before you commit Cells to anything else.
B tier
The middle of the roster is where the value picks live. Most of this bracket costs between 35,000 and 50,000 Cells with no gate, which makes it the natural landing spot for a mid-game account.

Jet Jaguar 1973 earns its slot for a non-combat reason more than a combat one. At 9,500 Cells it is the cheapest fast body in the game, and fast bodies are what make the Monster Zero skull hunt practical.
C tier
Gorosaurus at 5,750 Cells, King Caesar at 6,250 and Godzilla 1962 at 6,500. All three are ungated, all three are pure ground bruisers, and none of them has a documented kit note that separates it from its neighbours.
They are not bad. They are simply interchangeable, and in a game where the top of the roster is defined by beams, hitbox growth and healing, a plain bruiser falls behind. Buy them because you like the design or because you have Cells burning a hole, not because a fight needs them.
Showa Mothra at 3,500 Cells sits at the bottom of this bracket. It flies for very little, which is more than most of the roster can say at that price.
D tier

These four cost nothing and they are the correct starting point for a fresh account. D tier describes how they fare against a Destoroyah Final Form, not whether you should play them.
The caveat worth stating plainly: they are the only kaiju available at minute one, so a new player has no real choice. What you can control is how fast you leave them, and the beginner guide covers the ungated Cell ladder from 1,000 upward that gets you off the starter roster quickly.
What is deliberately missing from this list
Three kaiju from Update 52 have no published price and no published gate: Shin Eva Godzilla, Skeleton Gojira 1954 and Godzilla In Hell. The developer announcement names them and stops there.
Ranking them would mean inventing their numbers. They are absent on purpose, and the live unlock card in game is the only authority on them right now. That matters more than usual this month, because the Halloween set is the newest content in the game and early impressions will settle into an actual ranking within a few weeks. Player impressions of the new three are being posted daily on the community Discord.
The developer does not publish them. A page showing a table of DPS and health figures for Kaiju Alpha is not reading a balance sheet, it is generating one. Cross-check any claim against the in-game card before you spend Cells on it.

Whichever of the four free starters you enjoy, because all four are free and none of them is a real choice at minute one. The more useful question is which ungated kaiju to buy first with Cells, and Mothra Larva at 1,000 Cells is the cheapest rung on that ladder.
Which kaiju is best for farming Cells?
Heisei Godzilla is the most commonly reported answer, and it costs 125,000 Cells with no gate. Biollante at 50,000 Cells is the cheaper route to the same kind of area coverage. The cells guide covers the farming loop itself.
Is Monster Zero worth grinding for?
Yes, if you enjoy flying kaiju. It unlocks with 10 skulls rather than a Cell price, so it bypasses the entire Cell ladder, and it is the one top-bracket unlock that does not require a level 100 form first.

No. Update 52 shipped 15 skins with the Halloween patch, and skins are cosmetic only. Nothing on this list changes because of one.
