Ride a Dino Secret Dinos and Rare Spawns

Ride a Dino Secret Dinos and rare spawns: the 1 in 900Qa Magma T-Rex, the 1 in 999b find, how rare spawns differ from aura rarity, and how to read the odds.

Ride a Dino Secret Dinos and Rare Spawns

Ride a Dino has two different kinds of rare, and they get mixed up constantly. One is a Secret Dino, a species that appears only sometimes. The other is a high rarity tier like Divine. The official store description mentions both separately: you "Tame and collect 50+ species, from Common all the way up to Divine" and you "Hunt for Secret Dinos that only show up once in a while".

The Two Official Spawn Numbers

The developer's own promotional screenshots publish two spawn rates, and they are the hardest numbers in the game:

Advertised find Spawn rate Advertised income
Magma T-Rex 1 in 900Qa $12.7B/s
Golden dinosaur 1 in 999b $68.99m/s

Read those carefully, because the first one looks like a typo and is not. Qa is the game's shorthand for a very large number, and the same suffix system appears on your own cash counter. One in 900Qa is roughly one in nine hundred quadrillion, which is not a realistic gameplay target. It is a deliberately unreachable number used to sell the idea that the best dinosaur exists.

The second number, one in 999b, is also absurd, but less so, and it is paired with an income of $68.99m/s that is roughly three orders of magnitude above an ordinary tame.

Both numbers come from the developer's own marketing art, so they are official claims about the game's design intent, not community guesses.

These rates are advertisements, not a drop table

Nobody has published a verified spawn table for this game, and the developer's own art is the only place these two figures appear. Treat them as "these two finds exist and are extremely rare", not as a precise probability you can plan around.

Secret Dinos Versus Rarity Tiers

These are different systems, and the difference matters for how you play.

Rarity tiers are a property of a species. The range runs from Common to Divine, and the game also labels individual finds with tier names. The official preview video shows the Dino Machines list using labels including Mythic, Secret and Eternal on its strongest entries, so the game is comfortable reusing tier language across systems.

Secret Dinos are a spawn behaviour. The description says they "only show up once in a while", which means they are not on a fixed rotation and not guaranteed by any zone. They are an event.

Aura rarity is a third, separate thing: the tier of the stamina multiplier you equip. Divine, the top aura, is a Mythic aura at level 11. Divine the dinosaur and Divine the aura are unrelated, and the auras guide is a different system from the dinosaurs guide.

How to Spot a Rare Find in the Wild

The official video gives you a practical heuristic that no guide can improve on: the yellow ring. A dinosaur with a yellow ring under it is the one the game has highlighted for you, and the ring appears when you are close enough to mount it.

What the game does not do is tell you, in advance, that a Secret spawn is happening. There is no alert banner, no countdown, no notification. The best evidence available in the official material is that a Secret dinosaur simply is not there most of the time.

So the practical approach is boring but correct: ride regularly, check every era you have unlocked, and take the ring when it appears. The eras guide lists the nine zones worth sweeping, and the Jungle, Forest and Bone Badlands are the ones community coverage most often associates with the rarer species.

What a Rare Find Is Worth

The interesting part is the income, not the name.

Find Income
Tamed Ostrich $8/s
Typical ranch total early on $53/s
Golden dinosaur (advertised) $68.99m/s
Magma Colossal T-Rex gamepass tame (advertised) $560K/s
Magma T-Rex (advertised) $12.7B/s

Even the "one in 999b" golden find, at $68.99m/s, is worth more than ten million Ostriches. That is the actual reward structure: a rare find replaces your income entirely rather than adding to it.

Which is also why pen space matters so much. If your ranch has limited slots, one rare tame can be worth more than every common tame in the game combined, and the ranch guide covers how to manage that.

The One Thing You Can Buy

There is exactly one guaranteed way to get a top-tier dinosaur in this game, and it is not a drop. The developer's Magma Colossal T-Rex gamepass was sold as a single delivery of an exclusive dinosaur with obsidian armour and molten seams, advertised at $560K/s in a pen.

Two facts about it matter today. It has been delisted: the pass is no longer for sale and its price field is empty on the store. And it exists, which means the developer built a premium dinosaur as a purchasable object, which tells you how they think about the top of the roster.

The current store offers one pass instead, 2X Money at 199 Robux, which doubles what your pens and tames earn while you play. The gamepasses guide weighs the two against each other.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the rarest dinosaur in Ride a Dino? Divine is the top of the official rarity range. The rarest advertised spawn is the Magma T-Rex at one in 900Qa.

Are Secret Dinos in Ride a Dino real? Yes. The official description says to hunt for Secret Dinos that only show up once in a while, which means they are a real spawn category with irregular timing.

Can you buy the Magma T-Rex? Not any more. The Magma Colossal T-Rex gamepass has been delisted and is no longer for sale.

How do I find a rare dinosaur? Ride regularly across the eras you have unlocked and take any dinosaur highlighted with the yellow ring. The game does not announce secret spawns in advance.

Does a better aura make rare dinosaurs appear more often? No. Auras multiply stamina only. Spawn rates are separate from your gear.
