Candy Kingdom Defense stages and worlds: five worlds, twenty-five stages, Act 1 Candy Road, the wave structure and what each new world adds.
Candy Kingdom Defense Stages and Worlds
The campaign in Candy Kingdom Defense runs across five worlds and twenty-five stages, according to the developer's own description. The structure is a Story Mode of numbered acts, and the first one is called CANDY ROAD in the game's interface, with a "1. Story Mode" chapter heading and an act label that reads ACT 1.

How a Stage Works
Each stage is a fixed-length defence. The HUD during a run shows two counters:
- WAVE x/10 — the stage runs ten waves.
- ROUND x/30 — each wave contains rounds, and a normal stage caps at 30 rounds.
Past 30 rounds you are in endless mode rather than the stage, which is why the same HUD shows "ROUND 33/30" and "ROUND 34/30" in longer runs. The Infinite Mode guide explains what to do with those extra rounds.
Two more counters matter while you fight:
- YOUR TEAM (1/6) shows how much of your six-slot squad is deployed, with each hero's own experience bar underneath.
- The gem total in the top left shows your balance, which grows as the wave completes and the drops land.
The stage ends when you clear the final wave. The button to begin is START WAVE, and it appears on the stage map before the fight, which means the map screen is where you choose your team.
The Five Worlds
The description names the count but not the individual worlds, so the honest position is this: five worlds, twenty-five stages, five stages per world is the natural reading of that structure, and the first one is confirmed as Act 1, Candy Road.
What is confirmed about the world structure:
- Act 1 is Candy Road, the opening candy-tinged area, and it is where the game's own tutorial and starter content sit.
- The enemies escalate by world. The description names the three enemy families: Candy zombies, Snow Golems and Lemongrab's sour army. A Snow Golem wave in a later act is a different problem from a Candy zombie wave in Act 1.
- Two more worlds are already promised. The developer states that "The Nightosphere and the Crystal Dimension are coming soon", so at least part of the five-world roadmap is public, with the Nightosphere and the Crystal Dimension named as the next arrivals.
- The chapter numbering in the interface confirms the act structure, with the story mode labelled as chapter one and further chapters, including the Infinite Mode and the Dungeon Train, sitting outside the main campaign.
What Changes As You Climb
The waves, not the rules. The core loop never changes: your six heroes fight, enemies walk in, drops land. What changes is the mix and the size of the waves.
The enemy roster expands. Act 1 is built around Candy zombies. Snow Golems and the sour army show up as the campaign advances, and the sources of damage that a starter squad handles become sources that a mid-game squad does not.
The drops get better. Your reward per run scales as the wave count climbs, and the same stage is worth more when you can clear it in fewer attempts because of a stronger squad. The tier list covers which heroes get you there fastest.
The roster pressure grows. Six slots stays six slots. Every new world adds a reason to want a hero you do not have space for, which is what makes the evolution guide relevant rather than optional.
Clearing Order Recommendations
Clear the stage, then move on. There is no reason to farm Act 1 once it is cleared, unless you need drops for a specific evolution. The campaign is short enough that speed matters more than repetition.
Do not skip a stage because it looks hard. Stages unlock in order, and the reward curve in a gacha tower defence is usually back-loaded at the stage boundary. The new stage usually pays the materials you need for the next evolution step.
Farm only for what you are short of. If you need evolution items for a specific hero, replay the stage that drops them. If you need Gems, sell spare hero duplicates instead of grinding.
The settings panel includes an AUTO SKIP WAVES toggle, alongside options for health bars, camera shake, sound effects and low graphics. Turning it on after you know the stage means you can clear the campaign quickly and spend the time on the endless modes instead.
